I didn’t want to post somewhere where everyone could see. I guess this is just more for me. How was my year? I guess to sum it up, it was okay. But really, a lot of good things happened; not many bad things.
Went on my first out-of-state trip with my girlfriend and her family. That was new, eye-opening, and a big step in our relationship. Met a new and beautiful family in a wonderful city I’ve never been to, San Francisco. Might even move there when I get older.
Moved back in with the parents because of a new addition to the family, my little nephew Jay-R. Figured the family could use an extra hand. Now I have two little ones to worry about.
Went on a trip to Texas with my mom and witnessed a wedding of a good friend. Great mother/son bonding time and a chance to travel is always a plus.
Dedicated this year to school and I have gotten a lot done racking up those credit hours. I think this is the most classes I’ve taken in a single year; just trying to finish because it’s long overdue.
Joined a band. A different kind of band I don’t usually join; a Filipino cover band, Blaming Francis. These guys are talented fathers, husbands, and medical workers who just want to make music with good people. They’re all right in my book.
Made an unexpected friend who has shown me a better way to live life, Gabriel Valenciano. In my opinion, the best dancer in the Philippines entertainment industry. Who also happens to be the son of my singing idol, Gary Valenciano. I owe him to the many memories I made this year.
Lost a dear friend whom I’ve known for years. But it really was for the better. Sometimes you need to cut the weeds from the garden in order to get a better blossom.
The founding of the 407 group. I kind of lost touch with friends last year with work, school and living on my own. But these guys came into my life and reminded me that you’re never too old or too busy to have a good set of friends.
To these guys, I owe a lot of memories from this year. Went to Miami, Tampa, Daytona, Coral Gables, and Tallahassee because of them.
Met some cousins I never knew existed: the Lomibao’s. They turned out to be some of the most genuine, loving, and giving people I’ve met.
Found a new love: basketball. I love playing, watching, practicing, and learning about this sport. I’ve always watched it growing up, but I’ve never been THIS into it.
Attended my first WWE wrestling show. A life-long dream I’ve always wanted to accomplish. Thanks to one of my best buds, Steven.
Joined a singing competition just for fun in Orlando. Turned out to be a finalist of Orlando. Went on to make it to the Regional Final rounds. A great performing experience. and I also met some amazing, talented people along the way.
Met my idol, the man who taught me how to sing. The man who was there for most of my life, just singing to me when I felt down or to accompany me on my long, arduous drives to school every day: Gary Valenciano. Such a down-to-earth and humble individual who loves his family very much. It was an experience for the books.
Saw my best friend graduate. A crazy realization of how time flies and a good motivator for me to keep on track and finish school. But damn, we are old now. And not getting any younger.
Overall, a pretty good year. Yeah, I take back the “okay” previously said. It was a “good” year.
